Collin County · about 22 minutes to the shop
The X5, GLE, Q7 and Discovery that carry Allen households between Twin Creeks, Watters Creek and the schools are a straight US-75 run from a shop built around factory software rather than quick-lube bays.
Factory tools for eight brands, repairs covered by a 2-year/24,000-mile warranty
Allen
Allen is the family-SUV end of Collin County. The houses off Exchange Parkway in Twin Creeks, the streets around Bethany Drive and Alma, the Watters Creek apartments and the subdivisions along Stacy Road are full of three-row European SUVs. The commute to east Dallas is US-75 south to I-635 east, then the Northwest Highway or Ferguson Road exit.
The Allen mix is BMW X5 and X3, Mercedes GLE and GLC, Audi Q7 and Q5, Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover Sport. Many were bought new and kept past the warranty, and now show the faults these platforms develop at six to nine years: comfort access that stops answering, air suspension that sags, tailgate modules that quit.
Franchised dealers for these brands sit along US-75 and SH-121 between Allen and Plano, nearer to Twin Creeks than we are. Allen owners come south when the dealer has quoted a module outright, when the car is out of coverage and the estimate is startling, or when a used part needs programming.
We bring ISTA, XENTRY, ODIS and VCDS, SDD and Pathfinder, and AVDI for keys to those cars, with a J2534 pass-through and the OEM subscriptions for factory flashing. The visit opens with a diagnostic session and written findings.
US-75 carries nearly all of it. From Bethany, McDermott or Stacy the on-ramps feed south through Plano and the Richardson Telecom Corridor to the High Five interchange at LBJ, where you turn east for the Northwest Highway or Ferguson Road exit.
The High Five slows on weekday mornings between 7 and 9, and the southbound side of US-75 through Plano can add ten minutes in that window. Allen owners who can leave after 9 get the 22-minute version.
A six-year-old X5 from Twin Creeks with a dead tailgate, a comfort access door that stopped responding, or a battery warning after a parts-store replacement rarely needs a new part first. ISTA shows whether the module lost its coding, whether the battery was registered, and whether a wiring fault sits behind the code.
Audi Q7 and Q5 owners from the Stacy Road side arrive with MMI faults after a screen replacement and adaptive cruise cameras that need calibration and coding in ODIS. Discovery and Range Rover Sport owners bring air suspension warnings and keys that refuse to work on cold mornings.
Because the question changed. Under warranty the dealer is the right answer and we say so. After it, the owner wants to know whether a module is actually dead before paying for one; our $165–$265 session reads every control unit and names the fault, not just the code.
When the fix is a module, we program and code FEM/BDC, CAS, EIS/ESL, DME, TCM, gateway and body modules in-house, supplied or used, and the repair is covered for 2 years parts and 2 years labor, up to 24,000 miles, nationwide.
Two cars is the usual answer: one parent follows the other down, and both are back in Allen within the hour. For a single driver, a rideshare from the shop back to Watters Creek runs about half an hour outside rush. DART rail does not reach Allen.
Diagnostic sessions take one to two hours, so a morning drop can become a lunchtime pickup. Supplied-module programming is a one to two day job; send photos of the dash and the key with the VIN and we can usually say which it is; call or text (817) 765-6604.

The three-row SUV from Twin Creeks with a cluster full of warnings after a parts-store battery; a full ISTA or XENTRY session separates the registration fault from the real ones.

Discovery, Range Rover Sport and GLE air suspension around Stacy Road: compressors $650–$1,300, air struts $900–$1,900 per corner, leak-tested before a part is ordered.

A spare key for the second parent or a teen driver on an Allen X3, GLC or Q5, programmed with a working key present in one to two hours, $220–$450.

Parasitic draws and comfort module faults on Allen SUVs that sit in the garage all week and die by Friday; traced by circuit with the factory tool, $165–$1,800.

Pads, rotors and wear sensors with the electronic parking brake in service mode on the Allen school-run X5 and Q7, $380–$1,600 per axle depending on rotor size.

Questions
Not always. On the F15 and G05 a tailgate that stops responding is as often a broken wire in the harness loop, a spindle drive, or a module that lost its coding after a low-voltage event. An ISTA guided test tells which, and a used module can be programmed to the car for far less than new.
Yes, with one working key present. SDD or Pathfinder and AVDI add the new key to the KVM or BCM, the existing keys stay valid, and the job takes one to two hours, $220–$450. Bring the car and the working key; a fob that merely reads at the door is not enough.
About 22 minutes by US-75 and LBJ once the morning rush is over, 35 to 40 if you leave Bethany at 7:30. Leaving after 9 or before 6:45 gets the short version, and the return north is usually clear until about 4. Weekday hours are Mon-Fri: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, so a 9:30 drop fits comfortably.
We tell you and send you to the dealer with the findings. The session still stands at $165–$265 because the work was done, but the written report shortens the dealer visit and the car goes in with the fault already named.
