The one inspection that reads what the seller cleared: every module on the factory tool, the immobilizer and component protection status, the lift and the road test, written up with a repair range for each finding.
Factory tools for eight brands, repairs covered by a 2-year/24,000-mile warranty
Symptoms
Problem
Seller cleared the fault memory before the test drive
Likely cause
A generic tool clears current faults; the brand tool still shows the history and the counters
The fix
Historical faults listed with their mileage stamps in the report
Problem
Car came with one key
Likely cause
The second key may be lost, or may be in someone else's hands
The fix
Key count read from the immobilizer, the missing key disabled after purchase if you buy
Problem
Head unit or cluster works but shows a component protection warning
Likely cause
A used module was fitted on an Audi or VW and never released online
The fix
Status read, release cost added to the report
Problem
Transmission feels fine on a short drive
Likely cause
Adaptations hide early clutch wear on a DSG or a 722.9 until the data is read
The fix
Clutch and shift data read on the road test, graded in the report
Problem
Engine sounds fine warm
Likely cause
Timing chain and cam adjuster wear are a cold-start symptom on N20, EA888 and M271 engines
The fix
Cold start requested, cam timing deviation read through the tool
A cleared fault memory looks clean on a generic reader. On the brand platform it does not. BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW and Porsche controllers keep historical faults with the mileage and the conditions at which they set, and many keep frequency counters that a clear does not reset. A transmission that limped three times in the last two thousand miles, an air suspension that logged a compressor over-temperature last month, an engine that stored a cam timing deviation on cold starts: all of it is in the report, with the mileage, whether or not the dash is dark today.
The scan also reads the software levels against the manufacturer server where the subscription allows, which shows whether the car has had its campaigns applied, and the stored service history on cars that keep one, which either confirms the seller's story or ends it.
This is the part of the inspection that only a programming shop does. The immobilizer reports how many keys are enrolled, so a car sold with one key and three in the system has two keys somewhere you do not control. On Audi and VW, the component protection status shows whether a head unit, a cluster, a gateway or an engine controller came from another car and was never released, which is a problem you pay to fix after purchase. On BMW, a mismatch between the DME, the CAS or FEM and the key points to a module swap or a previous theft recovery.
On Mercedes the EIS and the keys are checked for the FBS generation, because an FBS4 car with a single key is a more expensive car to own than an FBS3 car with a single key. On Jaguar and Land Rover the BCM and KVM status says whether the keyless system has been working or whether a previous owner gave up on it.
On the lift the inspection follows the known weak points of the chassis rather than a generic checklist: the oil filter housing and valve cover on a BMW, the oil cooler seals on a Mercedes V6, the PCV and rear main on an EA888, the coolant pipes on a Cayenne, the air springs and the compressor on a Range Rover, the chain noise on a MINI N14. Brakes are measured, tires are read for date and wear pattern, the underbody is checked for accident repair and the cooling system is pressure tested.
The road test runs with the tool connected and logging: misfire counters, boost, cam timing, transmission clutch and shift data, suspension height and compressor behavior. A DSG that feels smooth because its adaptations are at the end of their range, or an engine that runs fine warm but has a cold-start chain rattle, is caught by the data and the cold start, not by the drive.
Every finding is graded: a safety or walk-away item, a repair that is due now, a repair that is coming, and a note for the file. Each one carries a photo where it helps and a repair range taken from the shop's own published figures, so the report is a negotiating document, not a list of adjectives. The fault scan is attached in full with the mileage stamps.
The report is yours. Take it to the seller, use it to set the price, or hand it to another shop; nothing in it depends on the car coming back here. When the car is a good one, the report says that too, with the items that will need attention in the next year so you can plan.
The car comes to the shop in east Dallas for about two hours, driven by the seller, by you or by a transporter, and the shop does not travel to the seller. Book with the VIN and the seller's availability; the VIN alone lets the shop prepare the brand tool and know which weak points to look for. Ask the seller not to start the car on the morning of the inspection so the cold start can be heard and measured.
Dealers and lots agree to it routinely; a seller who refuses an inspection has answered the question for you.
The published range is $195–$295. A car on a brand whose tool runs a quick vehicle test sits at the low end; a car that needs a longer road test, a cold start and a second platform for its keys or component protection sits at the top. If you buy the car and bring it back for a repair the report identified, the repair is quoted from the report with no second diagnosis.
To book, call or text (817) 765-6604 with the VIN, the seller's location and when the car can come in; the hours are Mon-Fri: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Sat: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Sun: Closed.
An inspection uses no parts. The price moves with the time the road test and the cold start need, whether a second platform is required for keys and component protection, and whether the car arrives on a transporter and needs to be scheduled around it.
Repair ranges in the report come from the same price table as the service pages, so the figures you negotiate with are the figures the shop would quote.

Pricing
| Service | Price range | Typical time |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-purchase inspection: module scan, key and module check, lift, road test, report | $195–$295 | 1.5–2 hours |
| Spare key after purchase, working key present | $220–$450 | |
| VAG component protection release, per component | $180–$320 | |
| Diagnosis of a specific fault found in the report | $165–$265 |
Typical Dallas independent-shop range; a cold start, a longer road test or a second platform for keys and component protection move the figure within it.

Questions
No. The lift, the pressure tester and the brand platforms are at the shop in east Dallas, and the road test is run from here with the tool logging. Sellers and dealers across the metro bring cars in routinely; a transporter is the alternative when the seller cannot.
The brand tool still reads the historical faults and the counters on most modules, and the mileage stamp shows when each one last set. A clear done the day before the inspection is itself a finding, and the report says so.
A certified inspection is a checklist completed by the seller. This inspection is done for the buyer, on the factory platform, with the immobilizer and module status read and every finding priced. The two serve different people.
Usually within a day or two, around the seller's availability; send the VIN and the location when you book. Saturday appointments suit private sellers; the hours are Sat: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
Yes. On the 986, 996, 987 and 997 the oil filter is cut open and inspected for debris, the over-rev ranges are read through PIWIS, and the exhaust is checked for the deposits that go with bore scoring on the affected engines. None of it is a guarantee, and the report explains what each finding does and does not mean.
We tell you what it needs now, what it will need soon and what each item costs, and whether any finding is one we would walk away from. The decision is yours, and the report gives you the numbers to make it.
