Dallas County · about 12 minutes to the shop
Twelve minutes from Highland Park Village by Mockingbird and the lake, an independent shop that owns PIWIS, SDD and XENTRY for the 911s, Range Rovers and S-Classes along Beverly Drive and Lakeside.
Factory tools for eight brands, repairs covered by a 2-year/24,000-mile warranty
Highland Park
Highland Park is the smaller and older of the Park Cities, the grid between Mockingbird, Preston, Armstrong and Turtle Creek with Highland Park Village at its center and Lakeside Drive along the creek. Beverly Drive, Armstrong Avenue, Lexington and the streets off Abbott hold garages where a 911 sits beside a Range Rover and an S-Class.
The route east is short. Mockingbird Lane east past SMU to Abrams, then Gaston or Garland Road past the lake to Buckner Boulevard, is about 12 minutes outside of school traffic. Armstrong to Knox, Henderson and Ross to Gaston is the southern alternative.
The vehicle mix is heavier on Porsche and Land Rover than anywhere else inside the loop: 911s from the 997 through the 992, Cayenne and Macan for the daily run, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport in two or three generations, plus S-Class, 7 Series and A8.
Dealers for these brands sit north on the Tollway, on LBJ and west along Lemmon. What Highland Park owners get from a short drive east is the same factory software the dealer runs, in an independent shop that programs modules and keys in-house and quotes a written range before work starts.
Preston Road north from the Village to Mockingbird, then east. Mockingbird crosses US-75 at the station, runs past the top of SMU, meets Abrams at Lakewood and turns into the lake roads; Gaston or Garland Road then carries you along the west shore to Buckner.
From the Lakeside and Armstrong end of town, Armstrong Avenue to Knox Street, Henderson Avenue across Central, then Ross or Gaston to Garland Road is the same distance with fewer lights, and it avoids the afternoon backup at the Mockingbird crossing.
Porsche first. 997 and 991 cars with PDK adaptation faults, keyless entry and alarm faults on Cayennes and Macans, and the over-rev reports a buyer wants before a private sale; all of it is PIWIS work. Range Rovers arrive with air suspension that drops overnight and keys and KVM modules that need SDD or Pathfinder.
The large sedans are the module work: S-Class W221 and W222 with Airmatic and EIS faults, 7 Series F01 and G11 with FEM/BDC and comfort access problems, A8 with MMI and gateway coding after a used-part repair.
The owners who come east have a car past coverage with a quote for a complete module, a used or supplied part a franchised department will not program, or an intermittent fault two visits have not found. A factory-tool session here at $165–$265 reads every control unit and runs the guided tests.
Module programming and key work happen in the shop: FEM/BDC, CAS, EIS/ESL, DME, TCM, gateway and body modules, supplied or used, VIN-written and coded with OEM subscriptions on a J2534 interface. Every one of those repairs is backed for 2 years parts and 2 years labor, up to 24,000 miles, nationwide.
Highland Park households almost always have a second driver, and the round trip from the Village is under half an hour. A rideshare from the shop back to Mockingbird and Preston is about fifteen minutes.
Diagnostic sessions run one to two hours, key programming with a working key about the same. Module programming is one to two days, and Porsche or Mercedes all-keys-lost waits on dealer-sourced hardware. call or text (817) 765-6604 with the VIN and a photo of the warning for a first read before the drive.

Questions
Yes. PIWIS reads the over-rev ranges with the engine hours at which each was recorded, along with PDK or Tiptronic adaptation values, stored faults and the service history held in the modules. With a bore-scope on the 997.1 and a road test, that is the pre-purchase inspection at $195–$295.
Usually not. A single corner that drops overnight points to that strut or the valve block seal for that corner, while a failing compressor tends to raise the whole car slowly or not at all. We leak-test with SDD and soap before anything is quoted.
Yes. A rideshare from the shop to the Village is about fifteen minutes, and the DART Blue Line runs from White Rock Station, a short ride from us, to Mockingbird Station a few minutes from the Highland Park line. Weekday hours are Mon-Fri: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
No. A module programmed with the OEM subscription on a J2534 interface carries the correct software level and coding for the VIN, and a dealer tool reads it the same way it reads its own work. The integration level and coding history stay in the car in order, and the invoice documents what was done.
