Factory tools for eight brands, repairs covered by a 2-year/24,000-mile warranty

What should you send with the request?

Six things let the shop answer properly on the first reply: the brand and model, the year, the mileage, the VIN from the door jamb or the registration, the exact warning text or the symptom, and whether the car starts. The VIN matters more on a European car than on any other because it settles the chassis, the engine, the gearbox and the immobilizer generation, which is the difference between a key that is made here and a key that must come from the factory.

Add what has been done already: a module replaced elsewhere, a key programmed at a dealer, a battery changed last month, a jump start, water in a footwell. A photo of the cluster with the warning showing and a photo of the invoice from the previous attempt save a round of questions.

What happens after you send the form?

The request reaches the service desk and the reply comes from service@dallaseuropeanautorepair.com or to the number you leave, during the hours Mon-Fri: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Sat: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Sun: Closed. It covers whether the car needs the diagnostic session or can be booked straight into a service, the range from the published table, and the windows available. A request with the VIN and a dash photo can already name the likely line, for example a FEM, an ESL or a mechatronic, and the range it sits in.

Nothing is booked, ordered or charged on the strength of the form. The appointment is confirmed when you reply, and the street address with directions from your side of the metro is sent with that confirmation.

How does a car that will not start get to you?

On a flatbed, and the bay is reserved for the day it arrives, so say when you book that the car is coming by truck and what it does. Send every key you own, the registration and any paperwork with the car. A car that starts but has a warning should be driven in unless the warning is red; an intermittent fault gives more data while the car still answers the bus.

Diagnostic sessions and oil services are short enough to wait for; programming, air suspension and transmission work are better left for the day, and the estimate gives the window before you commit. Saturday hours, Sat: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM, suit diagnostics, keys and inspections; longer jobs are better started on a weekday so parts ordered after the estimate arrive while the car is here.
